Upcoming Performances for Season 4 2026 Christmas Afternoon Concert - "A Christmas Gay-la" December 19, 2026 at 2:00pm - cost Free Our Christmas concert will feature songs from some of your favorite Christmas movies: Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, and more! This concert will be Saturday afternoon and will be held at Peace United with a free will donation. 2026 Christmas Dinner Concert - "A Christmas Gay-la" December 19, 2026 at 7:00pm - cost TBD Our Christmas concert will feature songs from some of your favorite Christmas movies: Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, and more! This ticketed dinner concert will be Saturday evening and be a fundraiser for the Rochester Rainbow Choir. If the dinner concert sells well, we'll add another concert on December 18. This concert will be held at Peace United. More information to be forthcoming. 2027 Spring Tour Dates and Locations TBD Our spring tour will be similar to Season 3's but with fewer stops and hopefully a larger reach. Rehearsal and Performance Etiquette Please try to arrive on time and be prepared for warm-ups at the start. We know life happens, so if you are late, please be courteous and wait for a break in a song to find a seat quietly. Come prepared – we should be completely off-book 2 weeks prior to the concert, when we rehearse with the band. Please silence devices to avoid distraction. Listen to your section members to ensure you are all on the same page. Also, listen to the choir as a whole to ensure a good blend and to understand the overall sound of the group. Focus on the director and pay attention while he is working with your section and the choir as a whole. When you are not working/singing, please also limit side conversations as they can be very distracting to those who are working at that time. We appreciate funny stories and jokes in the right setting, but when we are near concert time, we will try to keep rehearsals “mostly business”. Respect is HUGE! Please respect the director and all the time he’s put into making this performance amazing! Respect the other singers by being attentive, avoiding disruptions, and continuing to put in the hard work to memorize and solidify the songs for our concert. Also, positivity and encouragement are always welcome. Please continue to respect one another personally and professionally at every rehearsal and concert. Respect fellow choir members’ pronouns and identities. In the spirit of respect, we ask that there are no strong scents used. We function in a tight space and a neutral scent is appreciated for rehearsals and concerts. We have some members of the choir who are allergic. Body deodorants are encouraged. We expect members attend at least 75% of rehearsals to ensure concert readiness. If you’re going to be out, let one of your section leaders know. HAVE FUN! We are really putting a lot of work into this music and it is a happy and encouraging set! If we are having fun, the energy is contagious and everyone, including our audience, will feel that. Chroma History It’s the start of something new! Inspired by the powerful community created by the Rochester Rainbow Choir, Peace United’s Chroma Choir will bring music and strong relationships to queer and ally youth in the area. Singers in grades 9–12 are encouraged to join, regardless of previous singing experience and ability. Invite friends to experience the joy of singing in a community every Sunday afternoon. The Chroma Choir will perform a song at the Rainbow Choir’s Christmas concert and a full concert lineup in Spring 2027. Chroma Choir is part of the mission of Peace United, and singers are under no obligation to be affiliated with any religious organization in order to join. Chroma Choir primarily sings popular music with inspirational messages promoting inclusion and acceptance. It was started to create a safe and inclusive space for those in the LGBTQIA+ community (and allies) to gather and sing together in the Rochester, MN area. By September 2023, the choir had gotten the support of Peace United Church, and a concert was planned. The choir's first concert was held just one year after Max and AL thought it up! 2026 starts our 4th Season, with plans for a Christmas Concert and a Spring Tour.
