About Us

We are proud to be accepting of those with differing musical abilities or backgrounds, and do not ask for an audition.

Members of this choir bring varied life experiences and perspectives, but are gathering for the same reason: a passion and love for singing! Check out the Music Basics and Leadership pages for more information.

History

In January 2023, Rochester Rainbow Choir was just an idea for partners Max Becker and AL Young. It was started to create a safe and inclusive space for those in the LGBTQIA+ community (and allies) to gather and sing together in the Rochester, MN area.

By September 2023, the choir had gotten the support of Peace United Church, and a concert was planned. The choir's first concert was held just one year after Max and AL thought it up!

2026 starts our 4th Season, with plans for a Christmas Concert and a Spring Tour.
